Huff Daddy is BACK

The man, the myth, the THONG

Aubrey Huff is back to the tune of 2 years for $22 million guaranteed with a $10 million club option for 2013. Although I'm not thrilled by the price, I'm overjoyed that we're getting Huffy back for a couple years.

To me this deal makes the most sense when you look at what Aubrey did off the field and in the clubhouse. His presence with the guys in the Giants clubhouse was great, keeping everyone loose and sparking hilarious moments as he strutted in his rally thong... and nothing else. He certainly was a huge reason why the Giants felt at ease during the tense playoffs.

His numbers although not astronomical, led the Giants in all 3 triple crown categories including batting average (.290), and home runs (26). The Giants found that putting Posey and Huff together in a lineup can be dangerous for any opposing pitcher and his experience as a major league hitter helped the rest of the club throughout the season.

Now go re-sign Uribe and I'll be "a lot of happy"

Laws of the Day

Aubrey finished 7th in MVP voting this year and along with Posey (11th) and Brian Wilson (13th) are the first trio to finish in the top 13 in MVP voting since Barry Bonds, Jeff Kent and Rob Nenn finished 1st, 2nd and 12th respectively in 2000.

  1. Essentially, we got Huff for 3 years for $25 million.

    Not bad.
